POWER FLUSHING, JET FLUSHING AND HARD FLUSHING

Our company provide Power Flushing services as a seperate service or as part of a new installation or one that has been altered. To amplify aspects of this service the following briefly outlines the process and expalins the implications of the processes.

Power Flushing, Jet Flushing and Hard Flushing are all expressions used to describe the process by which heating systems are forcibly cleaned employing water at high speed, and at low pressure, so that no physical damage is caused to the central heating system. The process can be made even more effective with the addition of powerful cleansing and mobilising agents such FERNOX type substances that breaks down the debris build up in a central heating system.
The objective is to restore systems with circulation and boiler noise problems, that probably suffer a build up of sludge and corrosion type deposits, in order to optimise the operation of the heating system. Power flushing removes these deposits and the problems that they occur from them.

Power flushing is also a good method to employ when carrying out a pre-commission clean of a new heating system in order to remove excess flux, swarf or filings and other such debris, as well as the grease and oil used to prevent rusting of components before their use.

In addition to the above, it is also prudent to power flush a heating system immediately before fitting a new boiler to an existing system in order to prevent possible future problems. Many systems are found to contain corrosion and sludge, even if no flow problems have yet shown themselves.

It should also be noted that the existing debris is often stirred up by any alterations to a central heating system or a change to the pipe work or piping and the increased efficiency of the new boiler may then accumulate in the boiler heat exchanger, causing the appearance of additional noise during its operation, as well as reduced efficiency and, in extreme circumstances, failure of the boiler. With the improved efficiency and compactness of modern boilers, developed to minimise fuel costs and pollution, any detrimental aspects will make them more susceptible to problems.
